Founded in 2020, the Darwin River Natural History Museum (DRNHM) is a privately owned facility located in Darwin River, Northern Territory, Australia.
Our mission is to explore, preserve, and share the rich natural history of the Northern Territory and beyond, with a strong focus on research, conservation, and public education.
At the heart of the DRNHM is the Stanioch Collection, a remarkable assemblage of fossils, geological specimens, taxidermy, and osteological treasures—many of which hold significant scientific importance.
While our physical facilities are not yet open to the public, we actively collaborate with researchers and educators, sharing our data and resources to support scientific discovery and learning.

DRNHM holds thousands of natural History specimens including fossils, minerals, osteological specimens, and more which have been collected over many years for the purpose of scientific advancement.
Morphometric research conducted by or in conjunction with, the Darwin River Natural History Museum plays a vital role in advancing scientific knowledge, contributing valuable data to both published and upcoming publications in collaboration with researchers and leading Australian universities.
The DRNHM holds thousands of morphometric data sets, accessible to researchers, wildlife organisations & educational institutions to support the advancement of scientific knowledge.
We ask that any data obtained from DRNHM be appropriately acknowledged in all related publications, reports, or educational materials.
